Atomic Habits
NON-FICTION
Atomic Habits is NOT a rulebook, treat it like a FRAMEWORK.
I wasn’t following habits exactly as written, instead used them as a starting point something to test, break, and rebuild until it fit my life. That changed how I think about consistency.
Something as simple as showing up regularly on the badminton court, to building skills I want to sustain long-term, the book helped me move away from chasing motivation. Small systems, repeated calmly, ended up doing more than bursts of effort ever did.
What really stayed with me is that improvement is never a function of copying routines. It comes from observing yourself and iterating just like designing anything meant to scale.
There are days I still struggle with consistency, and with following the systems I’ve set for myself. But I’ve learned it’s never too late to fall back on the schedule.
Line that stayed
You do not rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems.
Do you see habits as rules to follow, or systems you keep evolving?
